ADVOCACY & SUPPORT

for parents & families

We offer advocacy and support for parents who have children with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) & parents needing school-based special education support.

Olive Behavior Care advocates for children who are qualify, or are recommended by their teachers for special education services at school. Your child does not need to have an IEP to utilize this service. It is federally mandated that all children receive a Free And Public Education (FAPE) which includes academics, Occupational Therapy, Social/Emotional support and Life Skills. We support parents by ensuring their child’s school provides them with the education they deserve.

We work with parents to advocate on their child’s behalf and will help you identify and fight for the services your child is entitled too. Olive Behavior Care is here for you every step of the way.

Below are a few of the most frequently asked questions we help our clients address clients:

  • My child’s teacher wants to have a meeting to discuss special education services. What does that mean?

  • Does my child need Special Education services? How do I know?

  • My child’s IEP meeting is coming up and I’m not sure what I am supposed to ask?

  • What are my rights as a parent?

  • I don’t need an advocate but want to better understand and make sense of my child’s IEP

  • I don’t need an advocate but want help preparing for an IEP meeting or parent-teacher conference

  • What is an IEP? What does it mean for my child?

  • How do I know if my child is getting an appropriate education?

Olive Behavior Care is here to help you find the answers to these questions. We will ensure your child receives the quality education they deserve.

Special Education options in school are vast and confusing. We help parents understand available options and work with you to develop the best plan for your child. We will ensure your child receives the quality education they deserve. We support parents with children who have Autism, Down Syndrome, cognitive impairments, children who are medically fragile and children who simply require extra support in social and or academic areas.

We know how overwhelming hearing or thinking about “Special Education” can be and want to help make sense of it all. We are committed to helping parents feel at ease and in charge of their child’s education.
